Travelogy - The Simple Pleasures of Life with Shan & Kevin: August 2008

Zakynthos (or Zante) is a "Blue"tiful island... It is the third largest of the Ionian island. The skies and seas were so so blue... And the island gives off a different feel from the usual Santorini or any other touristy islands... Though Zakynthos has lots of tourists too... hahaaha... It is so vibrant, it reminded us very much of Bali...

We stayed at Zante Beach Resort (it is an all-inclusive type of resort, something similar to Club Med,whereby all 3 meals are included, and you can have drinks or snacks from the bar anytime). The room was just normal... clean and tidy... Our room was on the beach though... walk out from our room, and it was the Laganas Beach...

Welcome by a fruit platter and some light snacks in the room.

The entrance of the resort where we drove in... we were suppose to be there waiting for a tour to bring us to cruise around the island, but in the end, as e booked too late, the cruise was full... hahahha... so we drove on our own to another small port where there are small ferries to bring you...

The Blue Caves... I think they gave it this name, as the sea as really blue and the caves were casted in blue too with the reflection of the waters...

Pretty nice to see nature at work, and how these caves were formed...

Gerakas Beach... Considered as one of the most beautiful beaches of Zakynthos Island, the long sandy beach of Gerakas has wonderful crystalline turquoise waters...
